Character Bios: Clyde Claw

Introduction

So this is the second of the daily Character Bio segment; this time Clyde Claw gets center stage. Clyde’s story is similar to Joey’s but with a little more depth. He’s kinda like a secondary mascot for if some reason Joey isn’t available. If you to compare Josh Comics to Nintendo, Joey Pescotti is Mario and Clyde Claw is Link.

Origin

Clyde was my first actual take on making comics again for first time since middle school. I started drawing him in winter 2009 in my freshman year of high school. Originally it was an extremely dark and edgy story about a monster child from hell that eats people but befriends children. Due to his rather cute appearance it wasn’t being taken seriously so I made the story much lighter.

Back Story

In a world where there is a segregation between humans and monsters, three brothers: Clyde, Blake, and Zeke are left by their mother to fend for themselves. One night while roaming the outskirts of town, Clyde came across a demon known as the Prince of Shadows. He granted him the gift of manipulating shadows and even becoming one. The promise that was offered for such a power was to help wipe out the human race. Clyde declined the deal and fled before the shadow prince can do anything. Now with his new abilities, Clyde protects the humans from rogue monsters along with any evil schemes the Prince of Shadows plans on raining down.
